Tuition and Fees
Tuition differs based on your selected program option. We offer structured installment plans and flexible financing options at enrollment for both programs.
Online Birth Assistant Program:
Pay-In-Full: $1,997 USD
One-time payment at enrollment
Installment Plan: $2,196.70 USD
Two monthly payments of $1,098.35 USD*
Hybrid Birth Assistant Program:
Pay-In-Full: $5,000 USD
One-time payment at enrollment
Installment Plan: $5,500 USD
Two monthly payments of $2,750 USD*
* Note: This option includes a 10% tuition management and enrollment fee. First payment is due at enrollment; final payment is due 30 days later.
All tuition payments must be completed according to your signed student agreement terms to maintain platform access and qualify for Program Certification.
Flexible Financing Options:
We offer third-party buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) financing options at checkout. This option provides an installment alternative that allows you to make flexible payments while accessing our standard pay-in-full tuition rate.

Estimated Out-of-Pocket Expenses:
To prepare for active clinical practice, students should budget an additional $400 to $500 for required equipment, clinical supplies, and external certifications.

Clinical Equipment Examples: Doppler, blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, and the required Phlebotomy, Venipuncture, and IV Technique training kit.

Note: Beyond your CPR and NRP certifications, you do not need to locate an independent phlebotomy or IV course. Once inside our student portal, our program guides you through a specific third-party phlebotomy course and kit that we require. Do not enroll in an outside course or purchase external phlebotomy equipment prior to enrollment.
Exemption from the Phlebotomy, Venipuncture, and IV Technique Course requirement is available for licensed or certified healthcare workers who hold an active license or certification that already covers these skills within their professional scope of practice. Please review our [Exemption Policy] on our Academy Policies page to verify your criteria.

Across the country, the demand for skilled birth assistants is rising. On average, a professionally trained birth assistant in the United States earns between $400 to $600 per birth. This means your professional certification is a self-sustaining investment.
To put that into perspective:

For our Online program: Just 4 to 5 births cover your entire tuition.

For our Hybrid program: You can see a full return on your investment in about 10 to 12 births.
Once you have crossed the bridge, your investment is more than a step forward into your career; it is a direct contribution to sustaining the legacy of community midwifery care. Because Black Sisters Birth Academy® emphasizes real-world clinical integration, the bridge to your career is already built before you even complete your curriculum.
Most students who complete their clinical requirements under a community midwife preceptor transition into a paid birth assistant role with that same practice upon certification. In this academy, you aren't just learning theory; our curriculum is designed to position you for your future career at the bedside.
To extend your professional reach, every Black Sisters Birth Academy® certified birth assistant is eligible to be included on our Birth Assistant Directory. This means whether you are growing with your current preceptor or seeking new professional partnerships, community midwives can easily verify your clinical precision.
